Writing questions with AI

Press Write with AI on the Questions step. Nothing it writes reaches a student on its own — the drafts come back to you and you tick the ones to keep.

  1. Say what the questions should cover. The more detail, the better: name the class, the chapter, and anything to leave out.
  2. Choose how many questions, the marks each, and — for multiple choice — how many options to tick between (2 to 6; 2 makes it true or false).
  3. Choose the kinds of question and the difficulty.
  4. Choose where the facts come from, then press Write the questions.

The four sources:

  • The AI’s own knowledge — fastest, fine for ordinary syllabus topics.
  • My library — questions come only from the files you tick. PDFs, PowerPoint decks, pictures and text files can all be read.
  • The internet — it looks things up first. Slower, better for anything recent.
  • A video — questions from what is said in a video.
Using a video YouTube only hands captions to the person watching, so paste them in: open the video, press …more then Show transcript, select it all, copy, and paste it into the box. Timestamps do not matter. A video with no captions cannot be used.

Every draft arrives with anything wrong with it showing — a question with no correct answer marked, for instance, comes back unticked with the reason.
